In conversation with
Ivor Davis
It’s a long way to travel for a young man from the streets of London’s East End to the bright lights of LA, but journalist Ivor Davis did precisely that during his remarkable career.
Ivor will be drawing from his personal diaries and decades of reporting to share some of his career highlights. These include touring with the Beatles in 1964, where he was the only British daily newspaper correspondent to cover the Fab Four’s first American tour from start to finish. He subsequently wrote a book charting this experience, The Beatles and Me on Tour.
He will also share details of his legendary interviews with stars such as Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
Ivor has also had a successful writing career and his book Five to Die has been hailed as the definitive description of the Charles Manson murders, so much so that the LA District Attorney used it as the blueprint for the prosecution during the trial.
