Israel’s most vulnerable children need you as much today as they did in 1933

For over 88 years Youth Aliyah Child Rescue has been supporting at risk children in Israel who do not have family who can safely raise them.

While it may look like times have changed, the children we care for today have a lot in common with those that came before them.

Whether escaping antisemitism or war-torn countries, finding a home away from families struggling with extreme poverty or abuse, or having become orphaned, the children we care for find a place with us where they can heal, live, and learn together.

Our earliest residents endured malaria, which was rampant at that time, whilst today’s face the impact of Covid. In years gone by, they sheltered together during the War of Independence; most recently they were kept safe during the war with Gaza. Back then, they brought Ashkenazi culture to the Holy Land; today they are teaching their peers about the traditions of Ethiopia and Brazil.

Whilst the specific details may have changed, the core reasons for the Youth Villages existence remain the same. Our Youth Villages provide vulnerable children with the safety and stability they need so that they can heal and grow, and they prepare them to become the future leaders of their communities and of Israel.

This Rosh Hashanah, let’s make sure that our Youth Villages can continue to be there for the children that need them. As we look forward to our New Year, together we can make sure that our children will also have something to look forward to.
